AirFiber Broadband Bridging for Remote Industrial Estates

Ahaasmi Network Architects • Deployments

Deep agro-industrial terrains suffer from complete cellular dead-zones, leaving resident workers entirely isolated from their families and preventing operations managers from transmitting critical SCADA telemetry. Ahaasmi Technologies engineered a flawless Point-to-Point (PTP) wireless relay setup spanning vast distances to eliminate this operational blackout at Sona Lal Bagh Plantations.

The Challenge: Absolute Geographical Isolation

Sona Lal Bagh Plantations, located deep within the Ghats of Chikkamagaluru, faced a severe communications crisis. Laying terrestrial optical fiber was geographically impossible and financially unviable due to the rugged terrain and forest department regulations. Without connectivity, the central office could not monitor drying yard operations, and on-site staff had zero emergency communication capabilities.

The Solution: Three-Phase AirFiber Bridging

Our Network Architects designed a multi-hop, line-of-sight (LoS) microwave network utilizing enterprise-grade Ubiquiti infrastructure to bypass the physical terrain entirely.

  • 1
BSNL Core Relay Injection We established a high-bandwidth source feed at Kuvempu University (Shivamogga) using a dedicated BSNL leased line. This signal was injected into a Ubiquiti PowerBeam PBE-5AC-620 dish aimed directly at the distant plantation horizon.
  • 2
High-Elevation Viewpoint Hub Due to earth curvature and foliage, a direct link was impossible. We constructed a custom relay tower at the estate's highest elevation point. Dual PowerBeam 5AC-620 antennas were mounted to receive the Shivamogga signal and immediately re-transmit it down into the valley.
  • 3
Valley Distribution & SCADA Integration The final signal was beamed down to the main drying yard. We terminated the link into a rugged EdgePoint router and distributed the bandwidth seamlessly across the worker quarters using UniFi AC Mesh Access Points, while dedicating an encrypted VLAN specifically for SCADA telemetry data.

The Result: 99.99% Operational Uptime

The SCADA network now pushes real-time moisture and temperature telemetry to the corporate office with sub-10ms latency. Estate workers, previously cut off from the outside world, now have uninterrupted Wi-Fi calling capabilities via the UniFi mesh network. The entire infrastructure is actively monitored 24/7 by Ahaasmi’s central NOC in Mysuru, guaranteeing immediate remote remediation of any RF interference.
